1. "I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry"
The song's just darn catchy, and sets up the greatest mood in the world when you're feeling blue. In fact, it just blends the best of both the country and blues worlds perfectly. Great song when you're down, or if you just want to move to a great rhythm.
2. "Your Cheatin' Heart"
Almost comedic in nature (especially when applied to modern comedic media), this song is angsty and fun, and is great when you just feel like pointing a finger at somebody!
3. "Jambalaya (On the Bayou)"
This is just a fun song with lyrics and tune that just encapsulates an entire culture. Actually makes me crave jambalaya, you know? It's also just such a pretty song to play during the evening when the crickets are chirping.

Mmmm. Yeah, Hank Williams is from a time when country was good and smooth. Just not enough Oooooos in smooth for Hank.

My play list contains 90% metal and a splash of "classic" rap.
But it also contains 3 Hank Williams songs.
Why? Not sure. Something about his voice, and the simple nature of his songs makes me enjoy listening to him. They seem to have a certain eeriness to them as well, like they belong in a David Lynch movie.
My Favorites:
1. "Hey Good Lookin"
Come on now, how can you not love a song with the lyrics:
"I gotta hot rod Ford and a $2 bill"
and
"There's soda pop and a dancin spree, so if you wanna come along, come along with me"

2. "I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry"
Simply a classic song. The guitar work is excellent.
Best line: "The moon just went behind the clouds, to hide it's face and cry"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_hDPMJ5HJ3M
3. "Your Cheatin' Heart"
Another classic. Simple as that.
Best line: "When tears come down like fallin rain, you'll toss around and call my name"

1. Why Don't You Love Me
This song just always makes me smile. It's lighthearted and fun, and I love the sound.
Sample Lyric: Why don't you love my like you used to do? How come you treat me like a worn out shoe? My hair's still curly and my eyes are still blue, so why don't you love me like you used to do.

2. Cold, Cold Heart
This song is bluesy and raw. I think it's one of his absolute best. I also LOVE the Norah Jones version of this song.
Sample lyrics: I try so hard, my dear, to show that you're my every dream, Yet you're afraid each thing I do is just some evil scheme. A memory from your lonesome past keeps us so far apart -- Why can't I free your doubtful mind and melt your cold, cold heart?

3. I'm so Lonesome I Could Cry
The epitome of sad songs, and I'd argue that it's one of the greatest songs (not just "country songs") of all time. Rolling Stone agrees with that, and put this song on their list of the 500 greatest songs of all time. The imagery always moves me.
Sample lyric: Hear that lonesome whippoorwill. He sounds too blue to fly. The midnight train is whining low. I'm so lonesome I could cry.
Also, it's awesome that Terry Bradshaw has covered it.

I love Hank Williams. My parents are huge fans of classic country music, and I grew up listening to legends like Hank Williams. Three of my favorites of his (in no certain order) are: 1. Why Don't You Love Me
