I love the B2evolution Blog, got three of them right now in our family. Very clean core files easy to get around and tweak what you need to. You can customize the skins, the look and feel relatively easy to manage, Above all the support is pronominal, and the forum is packed with just about anything you need.
The B2evolution is for serious bloggers though it is not just through it up and go. The last upgrade to 3.1.0 was fantastic and painless. I even did it manually with no complications.
If you really want to get intimate with the whole blogging experience there are many people willing to help. We are like a family and take care of each other. Many seem to be switching over We have helped two more this past week.

If one could have one complain against b2evolution, it would be the limited # of skins but b2evolution has good instructions for migrating wp skins over. plus new skins are added regularly...
the b2evolution forums are active and the people that monitor and contribute are really friendly. Whether you have a php, css, mysql or b2evo specific questions, we're there to help out.

I think wordpress is better, b2evolution has a much better platform for a blog with various authors, but if you are looking for something like that wordpress mu, might be the direction you want to take. In the end I feel wordpress is a better choice because more developers are familiar with it.

The difference between wordpress and b2evolution can be compared to the difference between a snapshot camera and a full sized DSLR reflex camera.

b2Evolution is great. we use it at our site and I've recommended it to friends whenever they ask about cms or blogging. If one could have one complain against b2evolution, it would be the limited # of skins but b2evolution has good instructions for migrating wp skins over. plus new skins are added regularly...
