I'd have to recommend Confluence or Drupal. Either (or both in our case) work incredibly well for social intranets. Confluence provides the peer-peer interaction via the wiki and also provides individual personal-spaces (quite useful). Drupal provides the dept/company -> everyone (1 to many) for a more controlled message but still highly social. Both provide blog capability, but I prefer the blog/forum approach of Drupal at this point. Of course, neither blog platform is as nice as Wordpress for blogs. It all depends on how focused/specialized you want your tools balances against interoperability.

Very happy with Confluence: wikis, blogs, personal spaces and our corporate logo. Check wikimatrix.org
