This is what Kevin Rose and Chris Pirillo is essentially claiming since they claimed to have Qik running on their unjailbroken iphones a while back.
Seems like a story worthy of digging into Mahalo.

Yes. However it involves a process that would require knowing someone at Qik headquarters. You would need to visit or have one of their developers package a build of the app specifically for your iphone and use up one of their 100 licenses they are granted from Apple as part of the Apple SDK program. Apple allows iphone dev's to legally transfer their app legally 100 times. So, if you have a friend at Qik, and can convince them to use up one of their licenses to put the app on your unjailbroken iphone, your golden. This is what Kevin Rose and Chris Pirillo is essentially claiming since they claimed to have Qik running on their unjailbroken iphones a while back.
