Is there a name for ideas which become widely accepted after limited research because they make sense?

I can't think of a word, but maybe we can make one up. Eurekian idea?

For some reason, my question has appeared twice. The other version of the question had "scientific consensus" and "common sense" as answers. The way "scientific consensus" is defined, it does seem to correspond to this idea, but it's not exactly the way people tend to use the term.
So I tend to agree with you that we might need to make up a term.
Or maybe the term isn't that important.
