No, I don't think it is. Watchman is dedicated very much to the source material, the graphic novel(s). I heard alot of the hype from friends who loved the novels but I had no invested interest in the source myself.

Overall a good movie, and it will be a "cult classic" for those that love it, but I don't think it will be the geek mainstream that Dune was.
