I do not think Obama is simply blaming bush. I think that he is raising concerns about Bushes policies, which which a valid concern based on the state of our economy. During the presidency of Clinton, the economy improved. Under Bush our economy dwindled. Logically speaking, something within Bush's strategies was not working well for the economy. While I may not have a great clue to why that is, Obama does. He sees the flaws, and is pointing them out because he cares about the country. Yes, there should be a certain point where he stops talking about it. But that time has not yet come.

We MUST learn from our mistakes so we can improve our country and move forward! And I think we all can agree that a lot of mistakes were made over the past 8 years. Obama's been in office LESS THAN 6 MONTHS, so I think reviewing the mistakes of the previous administration is still valid and reasonable.
And no, I really don't think he's doing it to rally his constituency or play politics against Republicans. He's doing it because we, as a country, need to own up to our errors.
It's all about getting better and getting stronger, right?

Have never heard those words come out of his mouth. Dick Cheney however blamed the Bush administration for setting a deadline of July for having troops withdraw from Iraqi cities. Go figure.

I am very sick of Barack Obama blaming everything on George W. Bush. But I have to keep the faith, what little I have left, that he knows what he is doing.

No, I'm not sick of it, provided that the blame is due and appropriate. We MUST learn from our mistakes so we can improve our country and move forward! @matthewh could you cite some examples of President Barack Obama insulting former President George W. Bush?

I don't think it's so much just insulting bush as it is raising concerns about bushes policies which will still be a valid thing to do for a long time.

I agree with @gno . Sometimes people blame others just for the sake of doing it without being realistic.
With a gradual shift of global power towards the east, we need a major overhaul of all our policies both internal and external. Otherwise US will not be able to compete with the rising economic powers from the east in this century.
British dominated the 19th Century, the US in the 20th and the East (China and India or the BRIC) are leading in the 21st.
I hope Obama administration and it's policies will put us back in the driver's seat.

Is he blaming everything? Did the cons blame everything on Clinton, or Carter? Did they blame everything on liberals? Did they say they want limited government and call Barack Obama a socialist? Do they even know what that means or what Marxism is? Somalia has a very limited government and yet they don’t say lets be like Somalia, the reality is the republicans/conservatives, talk radio and Foxnews have attacked this guy and I can cite many instances if you want them. Rush Limbaugh suggesting that if al Qaeda wants to attack the United States it better hurry before Barack Obama destroys it. It is this kind of talk and attacks that make a person defensive.

I'm definitely sick of hearing Barack blame George W. Bush, he knew what he was getting into! Barack promised us miracles with his whole "Yes We Can" rant, since he's become president he's been back pedaling by telling us it will take awhile.. Whatever happened to hope? So far he's made poor choices by choosing cabinet members who owe big money in taxes, which is unbelievable! I don't know if I want to see him around another term.

Again, I'll note that you really expected miracles? Honest-to-God miracles?
Because, for Obama to turn around the bad economy in the time he's been in office - less than 6 months! - would be nothing short of God-like!
Damn straight it's going to take a while. That's not back-pedaling, that's honesty!
I won't argue your opinion on Cabinet choices, since you are certainly entitled to disagree. But please try to be realistic before condemning the man to never get your vote. Give him more than 6 months before hanging him out to dry! ;)

I feel like he hasn't been as optimistic as he once was, that's my point. I hope he does follow through in time..

Oh, okay. If it's a matter of optimism, then I certainly understand. My husband and I were just joking the other day that the second new Presidents get debriefed on all matters CIA, their hair instantly turns white and they start rubbing their temples.
