I would avoid the Air unless you need a computer that is ultra-lightweight. For work, it kind of depends on how much you use it & for what. If it's just for web browsing & emailing, then the Air would be perfectly fine, though rather expensive. If dealing with more high-end applications then get a macbook pro.
I'm betting that you could use an entry-level macbook & it would work great. If you don't like the white body then you can go one wrung up to a low level macbook pro (13" macbook pro).

If I get a Mac for work, is the MacBook Air powerful enough or do I need the MacBook Pro or what?
