Actually they are pretty good. Good prices, good jets, decent service (not high-end, but definitely good) and very good scheduling (minimum duration layovers).
Usually, if you're okay with short layovers, you should be cool and I think flying to Korea/Japan should have no layovers. I used to fly Asiana going to India.
Other airlines on the pacific route that I like because of schedules is Korean, Malaysian, and there is a new Taiwanese airline called EWA which have great rates.
Hope this helps. I dont have any information on latest fares.

How is Asiana Airlines to fly to Korea/Japan? Safety? Price? Quality? I've never flown them and need some feedback.

Asiana Air is great. They have comfortable seats, frequent drink refills, two meal services and a pretty cool little on demand media center at every seat. There are usually around 20 different different movies to choose from.
