Prompt treatment is critical for removing any malignant (cancerous) cells, as cancer cells do affect neighbouring cells and this is how they spread through the body.

The key thing is prevention and early detection. Early detection will result in the removal of a suspected mole, which will more often than not halt the progress of the disease.
