A number of comic book artists, companies and other illustrators are selling their own works on ebay and/or on their own webpages. If you are dealing with selling, or looking to buy the work of a living artist you may want to go to the original source to either try to find a good appropriate price or source for such a work. If you are dealing with the work of a deceased artist you may want to go to one of the major auction houses to try to find the best market -- as they may have a public auction eventually planned for such works. However, the percentage from a dealer or an auction house may be too high for you. The keys are of course appraisal and authentication, and if important, grading. Which outlet is best for you to choose will of course depend upon which artist and what type of work you are dealing with.
