English Springers are gorgeous and very mellow dogs. My friend has one and I love her dearly! She's always very sweet and is really smart; she was trained and housebroken very quickly and responded rapidly to positive reinforcement. She has a beautiful coat and the most expressive eyes - she's also fantastic around kids (He has a 4 year old and a 9 month old!)
Be prepared tho - she has a lot of energy (most Springers do)! She loves her walks and going to the park; my friend taught her to catch a frizbee. It's good for her and fun to watch!
I hope you adopt one - you'll love them!

We lived in the country so the high energy didn't matter. He always wanted to catch rabbits but wasn't quite quick enough. He had common sense as to who was ok and who wasn't--not just any stranger was bad enough to bark at. He once had his guard up about someone who came to our door, and then later that week a neighbor caught that person burglarizing their home in broad daylight. I guess that person didn't feel like going through a Springer and a Husky (as well as a fiesty little terripoo) to rob us.

Does anyone know anything about English Springer Spaniels? Any info would be great. We're considering adopting one :)

I had one growing up, and several of my friends owned his brothers and sisters. All were smart, calm, loyal dogs with no bad habits. Very easily trainable, and he "sweeted" his way into our home by charming my dad, who didn't want yet another dog. He followed Dad around every minute, putting his head on Dad's feet, sighing, and giving him moonstruck eyes. We lived in the country so the high energy didn't matter. He always wanted to catch rabbits but wasn't quite quick enough. He had common sense as to who was ok and who wasn't--not just any stranger was bad enough to bark at.
