I think it's a very good idea. Once you've lived with someone for awhile, you will have a better idea of how you live together. Marriage is supposed to be a lifetime commitment. How can you be sure that your boyfriend or girlfriend is really right for you if you haven't even lived together?
My thought is that living together gives you time to build a better relationship. And, if you discover that you're not right for each other after all, at least you don't have to go through a divorce.
