No, they cannot. While canines can get the flu, it is usually the H3N8 flu strain. It is unlikely that the swine flu (H1N1) can infect canines. It is possible that the virus could mutate and jump to canines, as it mutated to jump from pigs to humans. However there is no evidence of this, and it is pretty unlikely.
