If you have direct access to the host (ie. Your computer is running the MySQL server), you can just copy and paste the contents of the "data" folder in your mysql install directory. This is often found in the "bin" directory of your web server. For example, on my windows install, it is located at "C:\wamp\bin\mysql\mysql5.1.33"
If you do not have direct access to the host you are most likely using phpMyAdmin to administer your database.
- Log into your administration panel
- Select the database you would like to move
- Click the Export tab from the top right
- Scroll to the bottom, next to compression select "zipped" and click "Go"
- Save the file to your hard drive.
- Log into the phpMyAdmin panel on the target host.
- Select Import
- Click browse and navigate to the zip file download above.
- Click go
And your done!
I hope this helps.
