It sounds like you need a replacement. The power management unit (the lowest level of code execution), is not operating properly. This cannot be fixed by firmware or software. Attempt to use a plug-in charge and observing the same result the PMU or internal battery is faulty.

When you are in an elevator, this problem occurs when the radio increases it's output power. If uncorrected, expect this issue to worsen over time.
