iPhone conks off when used in elevator. Batterfy is full, no responce to the power button. Resumes only when placed on docket charger.
iPhone conks off when used in elevator. Though the batterfy is fully charged, the iPhone doesnot respond to the power button. the iPhone resumes only when it placed on docket charger and charged for few minutes.
However during this conked off period, although the iPhone handset appears like non-functional to me, the callers hear dial tone when they call me.

It sounds like you need a replacement. The power management unit (the lowest level of code execution), is not operating properly. This cannot be fixed by firmware or software. Attempt to use a plug-in charge and observing the same result the PMU or internal battery is faulty.
When you are in an elevator, this problem occurs when the radio increases it's output power. If uncorrected, expect this issue to worsen over time.
