Why is my Mahalo Answers loading slow?

This question is mostly just to test the new email a question feature, but

I'd also like to know. Every page is taking a long time to load. Is it

because of all the new updates, etc.? My computer is very very fast, as

well as my connection, so I know it's not my end.

I did notice the site moving slower earlier today but right now everything seems to be loading quickly for me. I did a test run through some pages on each of my machines to see if there was anything different on one of them that created a slow down, but that does not seem to be the case.

I have a feeling the behind the scene updates that are being done, along with the new features being tested, is causing slight server strain which will work itself out as it populates the changes.

There have been lots of updates, sorry to hear its slowing down for you.
What type of browser are you using?
Try clearing your cache, logging out and back in, hard refresh (ctrl+r)

Hopefully that helps.

I use IE 6(resisting the update) and every other window is running smooth as day. I usually have 2-4 IE's open as well as a couple of other programs and they are all running beautifully.

At least your pages did load. I thought the servers were down or I had been banned for some reason. I just got error pages with Firefox and could login until a few minutes ago (since yesterday).

If the slow loading started recently (today/yesterday), it could be because of potential increased traffic flow, since Mahalo Answers was featured on Mahalo Daily.

I have always found the loading of the categories list to be the slowest part of the page. I have also found that it loads much faster in Safari than Firefox on my Mac. My ibook which is decent for light web browsing crawls when opening multiple mahalo pages. When I click on the tabs of the pages loading I always see the question and answer text as well as user images and then I watch the categories load one by one on the right side. Sometimes I just cancel loading the page since it is totally functional.

Bottom line: I think the categories needs to be investigated. As it has been expanded recently is has only been getting worse for me. Shouldn't it all be cached and be the fastest loading part of the page?
