Personal note: I visited Tunisia five years ago and it's an amazing country. Tunis has some great attractions, but outlying areas, like Sidi Bou Said, are well worth visiting, too.

The capital of Tunisia is Tunis. It is a beautiful city. Well worth visiting. I've cited two sources (both Wikipedia) about Tunisia and Tunis. They have far more information than I could ever put here about this city
