The medical term for blood pressure that remains high over time is “hypertension".

It means to have chronic high blood pressure.

Diagnosis of hypertension is generally on the basis of a persistently high blood pressure. Usually this requires three separate measurements at least one week apart.

It's best to have a doctor take your blood pressure measurements to make sure you get an accurate reading.
