The Chinese calendar is a Lunar calendar not a Solar calendar and therefore there is no year that matches 1969. The Chinese New Year does not fall on western New Year's day, so they cannot match up even if they were the same length.
The civil year 1969 matched roughly the last 6 weeks of a Year of the Monkey and the first 46 weeks of a Year of the Rooster.
