Should Bart Whitaker have gotten the death penalty for his crimes?

In this case, no. Bart Whitaker hired Chris Brashear to kill his mother and brother; he definitely needs to be punished. But the victims, Bart's father (who he also tried to kill) and other family members, asked the jury to spare Bart's life and sentence him to "be in general population in prison with no access to money." They wanted him sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole, which I think would have been a fair sentence.

IF you know the case, Bart planned three times to have his family taken out. He did it for greed. This was the third time that he planned but the first time he had someone else be his puppet. Bart is exactly where he needs to be, He is a murderer and the "mind" behind the entire crime.

I don't think so considering his father did forgive him and asked the jury to spare his life. But the the jury decided death, so that's what he'll get.
