Yes, the Post Office (United States Postal System, USPS) as part of the Federal Government observes the following Holidays for 2009:
Thus, most Postal (retail) offices will be closed today, Feb 16,2009. There is no normal mail delivery today. (Although many Postal locations leave the lobbies open for access to self-serve services and some drop-off of packages.)
* Thursday, January 1 - New Year's Day
* Monday, January 19 - Martin Luther King Jr's Birthday
* Monday, February 16 - Washington's Birthday (President's Day)
* Monday, May 25 - Memorial Day
* Saturday, July 4 - Independence Day
* Monday, September 7 - Labor Day
* Monday, October 12 - Columbus Day
* Wednesday, November 11 - Veterans Day
* Thursday, November 26 - Thanksgiving Day
* Friday, December 25 - Christmas Day
* Friday, January 1, 2010 - New Year's Day
The next USPS holiday closure will be Memorial Day.
