Depends what you make it with. Bread can have from 35 to 200 calories per slice, and cheese from ~40 to 150 calories to slice, and whatever you fry it up in adds more calories.
For the bread, figure 120 calories/slice if it's not tiny pieces, so 240. Generic american cheese singles are ~70 calories each, so 4 would be 280. Tomato is almost nothing, maybe 10, and 2 teaspoons of butter is ~70. If you use thicker deli slices of cheese, figure 100 calories/slice, so add another 90-120 calories. If you skip the butter, you'll save on calories, but you'll need a bit of something else for optimal frying action. Don't forget to include that.
So, depending on exactly what bread and cheese you're using, and if you use butter or not, the sandwich you're talking about is going to have about 575-625 calories. That is very bad. 3 of these sandwiches is basically a daily ration of calories.
My grilled cheese sandwiches are gimpy in comparison, but one of them is a nice little snack:
2 slices country kitchen light wheat bread (35 calories each - yes, they are very small and frankly not very tasty), 1 slice packaged american cheese, 1tsp butter for both sides - that's about 175 calories.
I'm at work now so I don't have links to specific stuff, but if you want I can link you to some nutritional info sites when I get home in a few hours.
