I am not a music attorney, the following is just what I've read over an extended period as a musician:

If you're currently just doing music for fun, are just getting started, or would just like a little extra peace of mind, and you have a collection of songs eligible for copyright, you can send the entire collection as one piece of music and pay just the one fee. Unless you're suspicious that someone is stealing your stuff or you have a bigtime contract that requires extra precaution, I wouldn't go to the expense of copyrighting every song you have individually.

Technically, your work is copyrighted the moment your brain conceives of it. People have sent a copy of their music to themselves through the mail, and supposedly that's good enough in terms of proving when you came up with the music. And if you have your stuff on MySpace, I'm guessing that would help your case if someone eventually tried to bite your tunes.

Good luck with everything...

You can find lots of information, including the law, official sites, etc, on Mahalo's Guide to Copyright.  Good luck with your music!

Only you can decide if it's worth it, but here is a Copyright Office circular about music
