A judge in Manhattan ordered the prosecutors to release the calls after the New Your Times sued and demanded that the wiretap documents be made available to the public. Although the ruling was made on February 19, 2009, the prosecutors will have the opportunity to appeal.
In addition, the New York Times has agreed to to keep the names of the clients confidential.
