What is the worst NFL team ever to make it to the playoffs?

I know the Giants were 8-8 a few years ago and made it to the wild card round. Has a 7-9 team ever made the playoffs?

8-8 is the worst record a team has ever had while still making the playoffs, but it is possible to make it with a losing record. One sportswriter even explained how there could have been a scenario this year in which the Chargers could win their division with a 6-10 record, though since the article was published Denver won, making this impossible.

Thanks. Do you know how many 8-8 teams have made it into the playoffs? Might be time for us to get rid of this imperfect divisional system, huh?

According to that same article, 8 teams have made it in at .500. As for the divisions... Well it's always up for debate, but I think uneven competition is just a part of any game. Most sports have divisions that are seemingly stacked with all the best teams.
