In 1979, Harold Carmichael broke an NFL record; his wife was handed roses. What record; what day?

The game was in Philly. As a high school cheerleader, our squad attended pre-game festivities with the Philadelphia Eagles Cheerleaders as radio promotion and part of our winnings from a local competition. We performed at halftime, but what I remember most were the roses for HC's wife and he was given a car. I thought it was for most consecutive receptions; I have a photo of me at the game, but can't remember the record. Can you help?

Yes, you are right, it was for most consecutive games with at least 1 reception.
