In and Out is known for customer service and what they do is serve fresh food so they will only go a few hundred miles beyond their distribution center, it will take them a long time to go national if they ever do. There is a In and Out off of I5 and Palomar Airport Rd in Carlsbad, I recommend that location or the one off I5 around Mission Viejo. This is a privately owned company that likes it that way so it is harder for them to expand, sure they could go public and put stores in most of the states and other countries but then the product would change and the corporate bean counters would find a way to cut costs so the executives could have more, and it would not be the same company. They tend to pay well over minimum wage unlike other fast food chains that pay “competitive wages” which means if everyone is paying minimum that’s what you are going to get too. The way most companies operate these days is that they don’t do anymore than they have to. If a private company comes along that is fairly big they may have a different mission statement and in the case of In and Out they offer good service and fresh food. The way they offer good service is by making people want to work there.
