I like to make my own when I have time, but when I'm in a hurry I grab a jar of Classico. I like the spinach, the spicy, and the sausage varieties - and you get a cool jar for putting up pickles as a bonus!

• I liked that you mentioned the type of jar somewhat impacts your brand selection, in addition to giving a good list of the flavor options you're attracted to.

I like the old fashioned 'Sunday Gravy' made by Italian grandma's everywhere. I can't tell you 'exactly' how or I'd be revealing too much... The Soprano's Cookbook has a really good recipe for "Uncle Junior's Sunday Gravy." This is not a quick recipe--but well worth the effort. http://www.hbo.com/sopranos/cookbook/uncle_junior_sunday_gravy.shtml

I like the Barilla brand the best. They make different flavors such as plain and roasted garlic and olive oil. It is chunky which is good when cooking with it. I like to use it in lasagna, homemade pizza and pouring it over noodles and melting cheese on top.
