Best Bunny Margarita... EVER!
Stuff you'll need:
Salt, for rimming the glass (optional)
Ice (this is important! Please use crushed ice. The frozen is too cold and on the rocks, it just slips down the throat too fast)
1 1/2 ounces tequila (blanco, 100 percent agave)
1 ounce freshly squeezed lime juice
1/2 ounce Cointreau (not Triple Sec)
If using salt, place in a shallow dish. Moisten the rim of a rocks glass with a dampened paper towel, then dip in salt.
If you drink the minimum of 3, you'll need to stay out of the direct sun. I recommend you find a nice shady place and some friends to share it with.

Although, my reasoning could be the result of the Canuck in me.
My preferred brand right now is Rickards White.

Everything in life requires a good balance. That balance for me in a drink is a tasty Mojito. Most of the time, It's made with Bacardi Rum, fresh mint leaves, slices of lime, and club soda. Not too sweet, somewhat fruity, VERY REFRESHING.

This recipe comes from Booker Noe, Jim Beam's grandson. and makes about a quart.
* good bourbon
* sugar
* fresh mint leaves
* shaved ice
Fill a quart sized bowl with mint leaves (no stems!) Wash & pat dry.
Prep some simple syrup by mixung 2 cups sugar to one cup water & heating over medium until it turns clear. Do not boil & caramelize. Pour the simple syrup over the mint leaves in the bowl and let it steep like tea for at least 10-15 minutes
Pour a quart of whisky into a pitcher. Add four ounces of the mint syrup and stir well. Put the resulting mixture back into the whisky bottle, cap tightly, and refrigerate for 24 hours to let the flavors marry. You should have two more shots worth than will fit in the bottle, so drink them now to torture yourself over having to wait until tomorrow.
Next day, pack a metal cup with shaved ice. Cut a plastic straw so that the end extends no more than two inches above the rim of the cup. Shove the straw down into the shaved ice, and fill the cup with julep. Remove the straw and place a large sprig of mint in the hole where the straw was. (You won't be able to get the mint through the ice otherwise.) Replace the straw, sip and enjoy. Your nose should be right down in the mint leaves for full enjoyment. Be sure to put a cocktail napkin around the cup, because it will soon be too cold to hold.
Now sit back on the porch & make people call you "Colonel."

Or if I'm feeling relaxed, then mix me up a Gin & Lemonade on the rocks! Cool, refreshing, and alcoholic. Yummmmm. It's like childhood, but drunker.

It's just sparkling water, lime juice, mint leaves, a few drops of liquid stevia because I don't do sugar, ice, and a drop of rum flavoring (ok, that adds a tad of alcohol). The lack of alcohol means you can drink this all day long!

My second favorite is Trader Joe's Green and White Tea with Mint.

"SWEET TEA!" The ideal drink for summer. I brew mine in a one gallon Glass Jar, lid on, with two family size tea bags, placed in the direct sun until it reaches the desired deep brown color. Remove and sweeten to taste. Pour over ice when the spirit moves ya'.

If I'm feeling fancy, then it has to be a Mai Tai - complete WITH paper umbrella! http://www.flickr.com/photos/lydiat/2574115789/

In terms of cocktails, I'm a big fan of the Painkiller...It's sort of like a Pina Colada, only frothier, with orange juice added in, and cinnamon/nutmeg sprinkled on top. (I'm pretty sure I've had one with peach schnapps in there as well...) Fruity, sweet, refreshing and delicious.

I love hard strawberry lemonade. It's made of exactly what it sounds like: vodka, strawberries, lemon juice, sugar water, and ice. It's so delicious! And of course, you can always leave out the vodka if you wish. http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_wHMpHvee4f0/SI-LWWaOHhI/AAAAAAAABN0/dyhZbNQO580/s400/strawlemon1.jpg

A non-alcoholic Lime Rickey from Erikson's Ice Cream in Maynard, Mass. It has been years since I have enjoyed one of these. A coffee ice cream soda comes in second. These are definitely east coast confections.
