The Kiwi Fruit originates from South China and is mistakenly assumed by many to originate from New Zealand. Originally named the Chinese Gooseberry the name changed to Kiwi Fruit in the 1950's due to the determination of New Zealand exporters.

Today it is a cash crop for China, Italy and New Zealand.

The Kiwi Fruit can be eaten on its own and also in a variety of desert/pudding related dishes.
