I like to make mine in the microwave, to minimize burning. Melt 2T butter and 2 Tflour, seasoned with salt and pepper for one minute. Whisk in 2 cups of milk. Cook for 3 minutes, whisk, and repeat. It should take 6-9 minutes to thicken.
