Sab-E-Lee
2405 Ulric St (between Eastman St & Jewett St)
San Diego, CA 92111
858-650-6868

The restaurant is not as elegant as Lanna -- it's more of a hole-in-the-wall -- but the food is very authentic Isan (Northeast) Thai, comparable to some of the really amazing Thai places in LA.
In summary:
Best atmosphere: Lanna
Best and most authentic food: Sab-E-Lee

I'm new to the mahalo, so I didn't know how to select a best answer at the time. However, I *did* tip you and the other poster. Sorry 'bout that.

Oh, and thanks for the tip. I hadn't realized you had tipped until after I left feedback.
BTW, if you try either of these restaurants I'd be interested to know how you liked them.
