Next Question
Whiskey is a complex liquor that has the same drawbacks as any other type of liquor.
If you drink a lot of it, you'll get a hang over. If you drink a lot of it regularly, you risk the chance of developing alcoholism.
Different liquors effect each individual in a different way. Some people find that Whiskey gives them a hangover faster than beer or wine while others can occasionally enjoy a few glasses with little effect.
Whiskey (we call it Rye in Canada) is my personal drink of choice. I enjoy the taste of it and find that I sustain the "happy drunk" feeling longer drinking it when compared to beer or wine.

Whisky really is an acquired taste, I've never met anyone who liked it right off. Once you have thought, it can be very satisfying. Too much will give you a hangover more than others hard liqueurs since the flavor all comes from impurities pulled from the charred wooden barrels it sits in for 7-12 years. It starts life as a pure grain or mash alcohol like vodka or everclear, and over those long years takes on qualities of the barrel it's in.

it's my drink of choice. I never answered this question because I don't see any real benefits from drinking it. It goes down smooth but has the bite of rocket fuel. After your 4-5 shot you really don't notice the burn and you might even have trouble standing. LOL
