Breadfruit is a staple fruit of the South Pacific Islands. There is a seedless and seeded variety. The Breadfruit can be eaten two ways. If it is green they cook it and treat it like a vegetable. If eaten ripe it is treated like a fruit. If eaten in the green state, the inside is white and starchy. If eaten in the ripened state it is more creamy to orangie and is sweet. They are large and have a rough exterior, they can weigh up to 10lbs.
