So it is a mix of tomato sauce and clam broth.
Both rippened tomato and clam broth have a high concentration of glutamate (due to protein degradation) so the actual taste is UMAMI, which means tasty (I compare it to the taste of meat and the residual taste of garlic).
I wrote an article about it but it is in Spanish, sorry.

Clamato (a portmanteau of "clam" and "tomato") is a trademark of the Mott's company which denotes a drink made primarily of reconstituted tomato juice concentrate and reconstituted dried clam broth, with a dash of high fructose corn syrup, USDA Red 40 to maintain a 'natural' tomato colour, and MSG.

It seems that you copied and pasted your answer directly from wikipedia. It's a good idea to show that you are citing word for word so that you don't inadvertently plagiarize. I see you put the article down as a source (which is a great start!) but your answer doesn't have quotations or any indication that it's a direct quote from the article.
