Ok all my recipe experts - when a Satay marinade calls for coriander, is that whole seed or crushed? Can I use hot sauce instead of tobasco?

You grind coriander for satay marinades. I have used louisana hot sauce in substitute for tobasco sauce and in my opinion it tastes better. So yes, you can substitute, it if you like, without ruining the marinade.
