Oatmeal is known to be a healthy food but can a person have too much of it? Are there any side effects? I eat one bowl everyday.

Oatmeal is very healthy for you, and most trusted health authorities, like WebMD, encourage you to eat more. A bowl a day is well within the limits they suggest.
Be aware that the fiber content of oatmeal varies depending on what kind you are eating. Steel-cut oatmeal has more fiber than regular oats.
Oatmeal's benefits include:
Lowering LDL cholesterol (the bad kind you want less of)

Additionally, I personally dropped 10 pounds eating oatmeal over a couple of months. From what I've read it takes a while to break down and curbs your appetite. So, if you're one of the folks like me who over eats it's a great way to keep away the hungries!

Doing a quick search around the Internet for terms like "oatmeal health risks" and "is it bad to eat oatmeal every day" doesn't yield any solid evidence or real concerns that daily oatmeal can be bad for you.
In fact, quite the opposite seems to be true. Oatmeal boasts many health benefits including lowering your cholesterol if you eat it regularly.
The main health concern is what kind of oatmeal you're eating and how much sugar is in it. If you're spooning in 5 heaps of sugar with each bowl, that's probably not a great idea. Try adding things like fruit, nuts and honey if you want to add flavor.
Too much of anything can be bad for you, but as long as you're not living on an exclusive oatmeal diet, eating it all day and depriving yourself of other necessary nutrients, you should be doing your body a service by eating it in the morning!

There is one place you need to watch oatmeal and that is if you have so much oatmeal, with other things, that you radically increase the amount of fiber you consume in a given day. Gradual increase is important.
Also, apparently you don't want to go over 60-70 grams of fiber per day from all your fiber sources. So that's your upper limit.
Of course, it would take 6 servings of oatmeal to reach the recommended 30 grams of fiber by just eating oatmeal. You'd almost certainly get sick of oatmeal well before that point.

Yep, as I mentioned in my response, you don't want to go overboard with anything, and eating a bowl a day would be fine. So I don't think that would warrant a "fact refuted" since you'd have to go seriously overboard to get too much fiber out of eating oatmeal regularly!
