I like the 5 hour energy drink for emergencies:

When I last flew to India on business, I had to be functional in order to meet with and evaluate a prospective vendor. After a day of flying, suddenly noon was midnight and midnight was noon, and my circadian rhythm was a mess. I took one of these 5 hour energy drinks each morning for the first couple of days to help me adjust to the new schedule. I found that it helped wake me up and keep me alert, but didn't make me feel jittery or hyperactive the way too much coffee can. It actually seemed to last me through lunch, at which point I could recharge with some traditional sweet and strong chai tea.
I can't say that I'd recommend it for frequent use because that's probably unhealthy and bad for your blood pressure, but when you truly need something that lasts a while and that won't make you jumpy, it seems like a good choice.
A word of warning: It tastes horrible, and you pretty much have to shoot it down in a gulp and then chase away the flavor with something else.
