I grow vegetables in containers all the time. They have some special needs but generally its very easy to do and snow peas are a perfect choice.

**Snow peas need a few feet to grow, a small trellis planted with the seedlings in the pot will do or you can string up a small trellis along the balcony.

**Make sure its not too windy because snow pea vines are quite fragile when they are young.

**You can pick the plants as shoots - Snow Pea Shoots (Dou Miao) makes a great salad or stir fry vegetable or wait till they grow and mature into pods.

**Beware of spider mites and other small bugs, best to keep them under control with a natural insecticide since you will be eating the greenery

Good luck and have fun!

Here is a blog entry about growing snow peas on the balcony - with pictures!
