I do not like grapefruit at all. I do not like the fruit or the juice made from it. So, I have to agree with you, it taste like rubber.

especially when it is cooked, its taste is quite unique. some like it, some don't

Hmm, nope, I can't say that it does. It does taste terrible to me, but I wouldn't say it tastes rubbery.
