Does eating a load of Oranges help you cure your flu?

Oranges have Vitamin C in it. Usually it is advised to take when having a common cold. I don't know the scientific reason.
But when you have flu you it is good to have a lot of fluid to loosen the mucus.
You can also have lemon juice and honey. Those are considered to be homeremedies for cold and flu.
