Do you have a food storage reserve?

Do you save food for hard time, such as, loss of job, rapid inflation, or dollar cost averaging bulk items to save money?

Yes we do. We only have items in there that we will eat though. I know there are some websites that say you need X amount of this, and I'm thinking that my family really wouldn't enjoy eating that.

We have a beans, rice, flour, sugar, canned fruits, veggies, soups, seasoning, powered milk, and honey. (There's actually more, I won't name it all though.)

We also have hygiene items and basic first aide kits, along with flash lights, batteries, and bottled water.

We save money so that we can buy bulk items on sale. We have the food storage in case of job loss, or in case of hyper inflation.

The food would have would last us a year, but it wouldn't be very pleasant. I've heard that you should have "pick-me-up" foods such as chocolate, or other candy bars. We don't have those just because we don't normally eat them.

We also don't have enough hygiene items to go for a year.

I heard experts say you should store food and use it. The idea of using food shortage is too figure how what to store.

Last year, we bought 400 pounds of potatos from a neighboring farmer for less than a 100 dollars. We ate most of the potatos during the winter.

We use dried milk, potatoes, canned goods, and regularly cycle through this food.

Do forget to store water.

I keep a pantry. But more to cut costs. I buy staples like rice, beans, and can goods when they go on sale. That way I always have them in the house and I save a bit of money on them also.

I do have some food storage, but not to the scale of what you are talking about. I don't plan for any big events like losing my job or planning for inflation. I have enough food for about a week's worth of eating. It is mostly in case of a natural disaster or a long power outage or something of the like.

However, I do buy nonperishable items in bulk to save money, and some of that is in the storage bins as well.

Yes, I have food storage - but like @dcanswerer not to an extreme scale.

However, I do have a lot of water bottles for I am a little precautions of the future. Firstly, I drink a lot of water and prefer it from bottles than the tap. Secondly, I think that a possible heatwave may occur this year - so stocking up on water bottles will keep me hydrated through the months where people will lack the most important essential!
