I don't think they are destroying restaurants. I haven't seen very many restaurants with TVs all over the place unless it's in the bar area, or the restaurant is sports themed.

When I'm going out to have a quiet dinner, I would definitely prefer it to be just that: quiet! So if there are TVs all around me blaring CNN or something, I wouldn't enjoy it. But so far, that has not been my experience.

None of the restaurants I usually frequent have screens except one and that is in the bar area. I have been to some restaurants that have a lot of screens. These are usually chains.
