My Favourite song by Neil Young is called "Loner" and i love it not only because of the melody of the song, but also because of the way he found to describe a loner, and i think he also describes himself in a deep way. I believe that when he finished writing that song he found himself in mind and body somewhere inside the verses of it. I also like the way he sculpted the words and combine them to give it a new meaning.

(Sorry if my writing is not good, my mother language is Portuguese)

I just gave my opinion.

If this is the case, then you must be a poet when you are writing and speaking in your native language :)

I was listening to his Greatest Hits and the song that I like the most out of them all is "Ohio."

It would have to be "My My, Hey Hey (Out of the Blue)" accompanied by "Hey Hey, My My (Into the Black)" from the Rust Never Sleeps album by Neil Young and Crazy Horse released in 1979.

Neil Young is a great artist who deserves a bit more credit for influencing modern rock and roll than what he receives.

"Down by the River" is my personal fave.
But no Neil Young thread would be complete without mention of "Keep on Rockin'"

Old Man is my favorite...Neil Young's vocal range and his lyrics shine in this one. This vid is an early one - so I think it's particularly poignant as he speaks about the man who inspired him to write this 'new' song.

Words, Running Dry, Crime In The City, Cortés The Killer... you like asking hard questions, don't you, Mr. JH?... Let it be Tonight's The Night!

Cortez The Killer. I like Neil a lot as a singer and songwriter, but his electric playing is generally the thing I like least about him. It is absolutely exceptional on this song, though.

Also Cinnamon Girl, Cowgirl in the Sand, and Tonight's The Night.

The Needle and the Damage Done, a tribute to is friends who died of heroin overdoses, particularly Danny Whitten of Crazy Horse and his roadie Bruce Berry.

To quote Young on the liner notes: "I am not a preacher, but drugs killed a lot of great men."

It was also a great cover by the Pretenders, who lost band members to drugs, including Chrissie Hynde's ex, Pete Farndon, who died of a heroin overdose in 1983. Hynde later did a great duet with Young of Cowgirl in the Sand.
