It's actually a cover of Bob Dylan, but if they hadn't covered it, we still wouldn't know the words Bob was gargling. This is classic Civil rights/war protest music. Along with the Mamas and the Papas, Peter Paul and Mary personified both an entire genre of music and monumental societal changes.
