So if I eat a candy bar for breakfast instead of oh, let's say an omelet, but same amt. of calories, it's still all good, right?

Just looking at calories is a poor way to look at eating. My wife (a nutritionist) always talks about fat calories vs. "normal" calories. Not all calories are created equal. As the source says, "Carbohydrates and proteins are healthier sources of calories than fats."

Not only that, but there are more nutritious elements in an omelet than a candy bar.
