Here is an answer for you:
the suviaval rate for a new mothers babies are low. Some new mother keets dont know how to first take care of the babies so they might die by the 2nd day. This does not happen all the time though. Some keets make great parents and will raise the clutch. Im sure you already know that laying eggs and taking care of chicks is hard work for the hen. To help her out, make sure you have a cuttle bone in the cage for her to get extra calcium. The male will help feed her and help take care of the chicks to. Provide the pair with some parsley, lettuce, or grass. They love greens and this will help give them some good vitamins and minerals. Also to help the mom, buy some egg food for parrots and put it in a little treat cup inside the cage. Try to resist touching the baby keets until they are about 10 days old. By this time their eyes will open and they will start getting some baby down. You may look into the box everyday but not too many times or this will upset the nesting hen. Once they start to get fluff handle them everyday. This will get them used to you and when they are older they will be very tame. Its a wonderful experience to raise the keets. They are soooo cute and their noises are adorable! You shouldnt have to worry about feeding them yourself because mothers rarley abandon their babies. good luck w/ ur new babies!
