I have a pair and I honestly can't tell you that I've noticed any additional toning as a result of wearing them (I've had them about three months). I've been wondering if perhaps the supposed toning effect from FitFlops is because you DO make an effort to walk a little more? I mean it did at least get me up and moving, because I wanted to see if they worked.
Personally I think I'm going to stick to my good ol' Nikes and just increase my walking routine to tone up.

An easy, cheep technique going back to the origins of the human species is to simply walk around everywhere all the time on your toes (and I don't mean propped up with high heels, although you'll definitely find wearing high heels easier if you do).

Of course you'll still need to walk and do other physical activity while wearing them, but they can help tone your legs, back, stomach, etc. I have a pair that I purchased from Bath and Body Works. They were comfortable and seemed to be good shock-absorbers, but I haven't worn them often enough for any extra toning.

No. Not at all. The goal of toning in my opinion creates a supposedly "perfect look" and is accomplished with specific exercises that involve all muscles in the legs and lower body. Standing or walking barefoot, in flip flops, FitFlops, or any other type of shoes doesn't do it alone. The FitFlops might make it more comfortable that normal "soles" but toning takes a bit more work.

Maybe, although it's not exactly easy to see why. An easy, cheep technique going back to the origins of the human species is to simply walk around everywhere all the time on your toes (and I don't mean propped up with high heels, although you'll definitely find wearing high heels easier if you do).
