My favorite spot ever to fish is Grand Lake Stream, ME. My ex and his family go on vacation to this spot every summer, and I had the privilege to visit this spot for a number of years. The name of the lake is Big Lake, and it has small mouth bass, white perch, sunnies, catfish, and pickerel. One time on the stream that empties into the lake, we caught a carp which was unusual. I've done ocean fishing a few times in my life, and I prefer lake fishing though if flounder fishing is involved, I am there!! The largest small mouth I ever caught at Big Lake was just about 3 pounds, which was large at that point. I kept it, since the size was legal at the time. Hopefully someday I will venture back up there since the lake is so serene, and it's cool watching eagles flying around and nesting on the islands of the lake.

I've gone fishing a few times at the Berkeley Marina Pier (you can see the Golden Gate Bridge from the pier) but never caught a gosh darned thing!
One afternoon when I was 10, I fished there for hours, only to leave empty handed. I remember coming home and telling Mom that I didn't catch anything. She saw how sad I was, so she took me to the store, bought some Orange Roughy, and taught me how to make some good fish fillets!
Thanks Mom!

What is the biggest fish you ever caught?
What species of fish was it? Where did you catch it? Fresh or salt water? Was your fish a local or world record? Did you release the fish or keep it?
Go on tell your fish story, post the pictures if you have them.

Fishing in Maine has been great for me as well. I have been fishing and camping in Baxter State Park since I was a kid.

I've had more success with saltwater than freshwater fishing, and my biggest catch has been a 24-pound yellowtail, caught off the Southern California coast about 25 years ago. It would have won the trip's jackpot if not for the 175-pound (and protected) black sea bass that was caught and released, but the all-you-can-eat sashimi dinner I brought home was a nice consolation prize!
